Problem

A company had a small, old technology Galvanizing Line. They were losing market share because their product quality was poor and their productivity was no longer competitive. They had little money to invest in upgrading their galvanizing to become competitive again.

Solution

Bronx designed a ‘Roofer’ Galvanizing Line that specifically targets high speed, light gauge galvanized steel for the Roofing and Walling market. Bronx manufactured and commissioned the line, providing the complete Training, Technology and Know How transfer to the local operators. The Roofer line is designed to require minimal capital investment, yet runs at 120 mpm, producing a first class product. Conversion costs are low and the line uses basic operational technology so the company did not need to employ highly paid, skilled personnel to operate and maintain the line.

Result

The line is operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, all year. The product quality has been extremely well accepted in the market, so much so that the customer has since installed a second identical line to meet the demand. A third identical line is currently being installed.
