Bronx International air knives into the Indian market

Problem

A large steel company has several furnace galvanizing lines in India. The zinc coating weight control through the air knives was not satisfactory and the air knife equipment was very large and difficult to change. On one line, mini spangle equipment could not be operated because of the air knife inaccessibility.

Solution

Bronx International installed air knife equipment on all four galvanizing lines. A special air knife was designed which allows use of the mini spangle equipment. All Bronx air knives come with edge baffle plates to remove coil edge build up. Bronx also included comprehensive operator training and coating weight technology with this product.

Result

The Bronx equipment is much smaller than the original equipment, therefore is more operator friendly. The zinc coating weight performance and quality is very well accepted and the operators have far greater control of the coating parameters via push button control. The edge baffles are preventing coil edge build up and the output coils are able to be recoiled with a straight edge.
