Bronx commissions paint line upgrade in Nigeria

Bronx International has recently commissioned a Paint Line upgrade at Alo Aluminium, Nigeria. This project follows on from the Stop/Start Paint line Bronx supplied to Alo Aluminium in 2000 as an entry level line, to allow them to develop the local market. Now they have achieved this objective, the capacity increase will go some way to meet growing market demands.

The upgrade included an additional uncoiling section, horizontal accumulators, bridles for line tension control and increased steering. An additional electric IR oven section was added, allowing continuous production up to a maximum line speed of 40mpm. The continuous operation has significantly increased the plant output, together with reducing uncoated sections of strip associated with the stop/start process.

The complete upgrade was undertaken without the need to stop production or move existing equipment. The use of horizontal accumulators allowed the line to be installed within the existing low level building.
