Coating Line Audits
The Bronx Technology Department has extensive experience, (combined, over 150 years), in the design, training, commissioning and operation of both Continuous Coil Colour Coating Lines and Continuous Coil Galvanizing Lines. This expertise and experience is available to the market, in the form of Line Audits (operational and technology).
A Bronx Line Audit typically takes 4 - 6 days to complete. On completion of the audit, a detailed final report is presented verbally to management and delivered in writing. The final report covers the entire line operation or only particular areas as requested by the customer. The report details problems found, solutions available and expected outcomes and benefits from implementing Bronx's recommendations.
Bronx's team of expert technologists will provide proposals for any additional work that has been recommended for the customer's action, if so desired.
The audit covers the following areas:
- Communication with the customer prior to the audit, to fully understand the line's present performance and critical problem areas.
- Meeting with line management and engineers to thoroughly understand the outcomes required.
- Inspecting the full line operation, taking particular note to safety, efficiency, quality, productivity, costs, scheduling and product yields.
- Checking product test results, present and historical to understand trends.
- Liasing with line operators and line maintenance personnel to understand any problems at the activity end of the process.
- Obtaining necessary line drawings, specifications and operational data to analyse.
As well as check line engineering functions of:
- Strip transport systems (Tension Control, Strip Steering, etc)
- Speed control
- Hydraulic functions
- Conbustion functions
- Check automatic systems functionality
- Maintenance disciplines and effectiveness
- Operation of all liquid systems
- Check operational procedures and disciplines
- Analyse scrap and defect losses to determine main cause

The Bronx Continuous Galvanizing Line Maintenance Program is a service provided by our Customer Relations Department for Bronx International's galvanizing line customers. The focus and objective of the program is to assist our customers with an affordable program to maximise their galvanizing equipment with a view to achieve enhanced product quality and productivity.
